PAN correction online – many people often enter wrong details in PAN card and search for PAN correction online. And if you too are looking for how to correct PAN card mistakes, this blog is for you. In this blog, we shall discuss how you can opt for PAN correction online.
Permanent Account Number or PAN is one among the other requisites required for financial transactions in India. It is a 10-digit alphanumeric number allotted by the Department of Income Tax to an individual or corporate entity. A PAN number can be required while buying a cell phone or when making an investment in mutual funds. It is also a requisite while availing a business loan, opening a bank account, and paying income tax.
With PAN card being one of the most important documents, it is imperative for the applicant to fill the PAN card application form with care to avoid mistakes. However, even after taking certain precautions, few errors tend to occur.
Let us first discuss the common errors often occurred while filing PAN card details in the form:
The applicant signature is one of the important prerequisites in most of the application forms. In the PAN card application form, the applicant is required to sign at two places, one across the photo and other at the space provided below. In case the applicant sign’s anywhere outside these two allotted places, it can result in error which would need to be rectified.
Signing in Ink other than Black
The applicant must sign in black ink in the PAN card application form. However, not many adhere to this rule and use other coloured ink, mostly blue. It is vital to stick to the rules and sign only in the black ink to avoid any delays in receiving a PAN card.
Many people have got initials in their names, such as CK Sharma or KL Kumar. They use the same in the PAN card application form and make a mistake. The Income Tax Department does not accept initials and therefore, it is suitable to use full names at the place of initials.
Scanned Copies of Photos
Like most of the forms, a PAN card application form also requires two passport-sized photos. However, one mistake that people make is attaching scanned copies of their photos. The scanned copies can be a mistake since they might not be clear and may lead to making the identification of the applicant difficult. Hence, the original photographs are only advisable in the PAN card form.
It is always advisable to double check the data entered in the form. However, many people tend to make other mistakes, such as entering the wrong spellings of their names or entering the wrong date of birth. Pan correction online can also be required in case of unclear photo or signature. Now let us discuss how you can correct the wrong information entered in the PAN card.
