The Finance Ministry extended the deadline for filing summary sales GST Return 3B for the month of September by five days, on Sunday. Earlier, where the deadline was on October 20, now the new deadline is October 25. Additionally, the businesses who wish to claim Input Tax Credit (ITC) from July 2017 to March 2018, can do so till October 25. The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) that comes under the Finance Ministry informed this via tweet.

Generally, the GST Return 3B is to be filled up to by the 20th of the following month. And therefore, the last date for filing GST return for the month of September was October 20. But, now the government has extended the date by 5 days to October 25. This, certainly, is a big relief to businessmen.

Businessmen had expressed concern about the deadline. They had said that they face difficulties in reconciling purchase returns filed by the suppliers with their sales return.
