When India got independence from British rule in 1947, things were very scattered. The people of India did not have any identity card. All states used to demand identity cards at their convenience.
After some time there was a general election in India and Jawaharlal Nehru was elected Prime Minister. After this, the leadership started using the Election Card (Voter Card) to identify the citizens of the country and benefit from government facilities.
Time changed very fast. In the 80s, by the time technology came, it began to spread in India. After 1990, technology in India started showing its impact. Things started running with technology.
Amid all these clouds, there was a demand for a citizen’s identity card in the country, so that their identity and required details are recorded on a unique number. In 2016, the Aadhaar card was launched under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology following the provisions of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) Aadhaar Act 2016.
Citizens got a 12 digit unique identification number from here in India with the launch of Aadhaar card. This unique 12-digit number is called an Aadhaar card number. This is where the lack of civic identity in India for decades has come to an end.
The citizens of the country, as well as the government, benefited immensely from the Aadhaar card. In order of profit, small and medium traders are the top beneficiaries. The purpose of government schemes is to promote small scale industry and to speed up the shutdown or slow running enterprise. In such a situation, when a loan scheme like Mudra Loan Scheme or any other scheme is started, a large number of businessmen apply.
There are many times that entrepreneurs who need a business loan do not get the benefit of the business loan scheme, rather a businessman with less need gets the benefit of the loan scheme. This happens because it becomes difficult to identify the eligible beneficiary due to too many applications.
A technique was devised by the government to avoid this confusion. All small and medium industries were registered with the scheme. The scheme is named “Aadhaar Udyog Yojana“. Aadhaar Udyog Yojana is also known as Udyog Loan Scheme.
