The MSME-I Return filling due date has been extended by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA). The due date for the initial return form filing on MCA portal 21 is extended in order to avoid inconvenience faced by stakeholders.
The due date for filing MSME-I return is extended in terms that the period will be reckoned from the date of deployment of FORM MSME-I on MCA portal. Notably, the extended date is for initial return.
The notification on MCA portal says, “pending the deployment of MSME-I Form on MCA 21 portal and in order to avoid inconvenience to stakeholders on account of various factors, it is stated the period of thirty days for filing initial return in MSME Form-I as specified in Specified Companies (Furnishing of Information about payment to micro and small enterprise suppliers) Order, 2019 dated 22.01.2019 shall be reckoned from the date the said e-form is deployed on MCA 21 portal.

Significantly, the MSME-I Form is filled by the payment of half yearly return with the ROC (Registrar of Companies) in context of the not paid payments to Micro and Small Enterprises.
It is mandatory for all the companies in India who receive a supply of goods and services from Micro and Small Enterprises to submit a half-yearly return to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Notably, the form is mandatory to submit when the payment is done to Micro and Small enterprise suppliers done after forty-five days from the acceptance of the goods and services.
